FootScientific Arches Specialty Orthotics
Arches dynamic-custom specialty orthotics were born as the idea of a physical therapist, athletic trainer, and orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon. More than 10 years was required to perfect this idea into a form of arch support that has been used by college athletes and the population in general to provide orthotic comfort. These orthotics address previously unmet needs in comfort and support.
The materials used in the construction of these orthotics are designed to be responsive and provide gradual adjustment over time. This means they do a superior job of adjusting to the specific contours of your feet, providing a custom fit that is far more beneficial. Unlike semi-rigid orthotics, these have a nice balance of shock resistance and support.
Arches© are available in three varieties. Type 1 Pronation Orthotics are especially suited to arch support. These flat feet orthotics provide long-lasting comfort to those who have a minimal arch structure. Type 2 offers medial longitudinal arch support. Type 3 provides supination, which creates more stable joint control. Subtle cavus foot orthotics help to realign the heel and ankle for more comfort. These pes cavus foot orthotics mold to the foot after a week or so of consistent wear, providing a custom solution.
Type 1 Pronation Orthotics
- l-length semi-rigid orthotic
- Perfect balance of control and comfort
- Material density and quality of custom orthotics
- Incorporates a 3-degree medial heel wedge that realigns the heel and ankle to counteract "pronation" of the foot. This design re-aligns the classic "flatfoot".
- Captures the heel and arch for stable control of the subtalar joint
- Materials allow for modification, if needed, by trained foot-care providers
- Orthotic will mold to the foot without losing essential structure after a (1-3) week period of consistent wear
- Designed to relieve pain and stresses to the entire body caused by the misbalances inherent in flat feet and hyperpronation
TYPE 2 Medial Longitudinal Arch Orthotics
- Full-length semi-soft orthotic
- Combines fixed shape with cushioned comfort
- Medial longitudinal arch support
- Material density and quality replicates those used in custom orthotics
- Cradles the heel and arch for comfortable stability
- Heel and Metatarsal gel pads for therapeutic cushioning
- Materials allow for modification by trained foot-care providers
- Orthotic will mold to the foot after a (1-3) week period of consistent wear
TYPE 3 Orthotics for Cavus Feet
- Perfect balance of control and comfort
- Full-length semi-rigid orthotic
- Material density and quality replicates that used in custom orthotics
- Captures the heel, arch and forefoot for stable control of the subtalar joint through unique structural elements
- 3-degree lateral heel wedge or "posting" to realign the heel and ankle
- Unique and patented forefoot longitudinal recess that captures subtle "forefoot driven cavus" and assists in balancing the entire foot
- Materials allow for modification by trained foot-care providers
- Orthotic will mold to the foot after a 1-3 week period of consistent wear
- Designed to help relieve pain and unbalanced stresses caused by high arches
